Congratulations Danielle!

We are pleased to announce that you are the winner of the "5 x 7 Easel Back Frame".

Danielle attended the opening reception for Vincenzo Pietropaolo "In Retrospective" and participated in the contest by filling out a ballot at the door.

For her participation, she is the winner of the 5 x 7 Easel Back Frame, made by Roma. We wish her our best. Enjoy.

We also want to thank all of you who entered; we received many entries. Our only regret is that there can only be one winner tonight, the good news is that your ballot will be entered in our next frame contest / draw that will be announced after August 30, 2011 end date.

If you wish to participate and cannot attend the gallery to fill out a ballot and/or drop off a business card. You may also submit your entry by mail or e-mail.  Subject: "5 x 7 Easel Back Frame" with your contact information where you may be reached. (Please read contest rules posted, June 1, 2011 on this blog.)
Get ready, the next winner may be you.
(a photo of the frame will be posted at a later date)

Opening Reception: In Retrospective by Vincenzo Pietropaolo

Vincenzo Pietropaolo is an independent documentary photographer. For those who still need convincing, his work makes an irrefutable case for photography as art. In Vincenzo’s hands, photography becomes a kind of language and his books intermingle photographs and words with mutually reinforcing effect. Vincenzo finds his subjects – or, perhaps as often as not, they find him – when travelling. In his various photographic series, Vincenzo’s honest and poetic images move us, documenting instants of Italian immigrants’ challenging everyday life (Not Paved With Gold); telling the little-known story of Canada's migrant workers (Harvest Pilgrims); and, more recently, capturing images and telling stories of an invisible minority whose members often live and die unacknowledged and unremembered (Invisible No More: A Photographic Chronicle of People with Intellectual Disabilities).
